Hi, I’m Kat!

Based in Ōtautahi Christchurch, I’m a self-taught creative, part-time artist, full-time mum of two, wife, and proud plant-mum!

The Happy Kind Co grew from my love of cute, colourful, retro ’90s vibes and fun accessories. Alongside our handmade clips, bows, and scrunchies, I now offer my hand-drawn, watercolour cartoon portraits—special keepsakes made with love.

I’m lucky to be supported by my amazing family, friends, and the talented Alisa, a fellow mum who stitches up our beautiful deluxe bows and scrunchies.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to grow our handmade hairclip range, collaborate with local makers, source more locally, and keep building a sustainable future for The Happy Kind Co.
